norwegian construction
It takes some 200 steps to make a Haferl. First the parts of the shaft are cut out from carefully selected leather hides, stitched together and then attached to the classic Haferl last. Supports added to heel and toe ensure stability. The double seam, also called Norwegian construction, connects upper leather, lining and bottom mechanically: Shaft and welt are first stitched at the insole; a second seam fixes the sole with the welt. Due to this “Welted construction”, the shoe adapts smoothly to the shape of the wearer’s feet and his individual movements. The filling between insole and bottom sole allows moulding the personal foot bed after a short wearing time. The Haferl shoe combines exceptional comfort with durability.
